Local Support Chesterfield was created to help connect people with local groups, support services, volunteering opportunities and community activities across Chesterfield and the surrounding areas.

After spending years working and volunteering within the local community sector, I noticed that many brilliant local groups, charities and community projects struggle to reach people who could benefit from them. At the same time, many residents simply do not know what support, activities or opportunities are available locally.

The aim of Local Support Chesterfield is to create a simple, welcoming community space where local organisations, groups and projects can share what they do and help more people discover support, activities and opportunities in their area.

The project is volunteer-run and supported by people who are passionate about promoting local community support and helping organisations reach more people.

The project will include:

– Local community groups and activities

– Volunteering opportunities

– Community events and wellbeing activities

– Support services and local initiatives

– News and updates from local organisations

Advertising and promotion for local community groups and voluntary organisations will always be free. The goal is to support community connection, visibility and engagement, especially for smaller grassroots groups that may not have large budgets or strong social media reach.
